Otium(Latin for “be at ease”)was founded after we identified a need in the market for parents to feel more at ease about their children’s whereabouts. Whether they are at a friend’s house, at school or a busy playground at a restaurant.
As parents we are all constantly concerned about our children. Thus, we as parents never relax and are always on edge - unknowingly depriving our children from the freedom of just being kids We’ve all wished there was a way to feel more at ease about our children's whereabouts without being the overprotective parent - all but an impossible balancing act. Until now our only options was either to be a helicopter parent or give your child a mobile phone, which introduces its own threats and risks to most young children. With the introduction of Otium’s range of age appropriate wearable devices there is now an alternative to having peace of mind on the safety of your child, while affording them the space to develop and explore safely. The Otium range of watches include features such as GPS monitoring, Geo-fencing (Allowing you to create “Safety Zones”), SOS emergency calling, movement history, and many more functions to provide you with total peace of mind without intruding on your child’s space. All this is achieved within a secured firewall solution only allowing, “authorized pairing” between parent and child, thus eliminating risks such as unsolicited contacting of the child by third parties, and or unwanted communication between your child and third parties.
